PAIRI DAEZA - Sara Emani Scarf Large
Born in Tehran on 25 September 1984 working and living in Amsterdam designer by day, illustrator by night studied Industrial Design.
I was inspired to create this illustration after seeing the images and videos of teenage schoolgirls who bravely protested by taking off their headscarves and writing "Woman, Life, Freedom" on their blackboards. They are standing with their backs and long hair towards the camera. Their bravery so touched me. It is truly incredible how courageous these girls are, risking their lives for their basic human rights and the most simple forms of joy.
I made this illustration to show these girls that they are not alone, and their bravery is admired and remembered. I want them to know that their actions inspire us and that we stand with them in solidarity.
